The group of Stefan Luschnig at the Cluster of Excellence “Cells in motion” (CiM) and the Institute of Neurobiology, University of Münster, is recruiting a Ph.D. student to investigate
Membrane dynamics during epithelial tube fusion in Drosophila
The Ph.D. project is focused on the analysis of intracellular trafficking and cell motility during tubular morphogenesis in Drosophila. The group investigates developmental, cellular, and molecular aspects of epithelial cell biology using a broad spectrum of molecular, genetic and modern imaging approaches. The institute provides an exciting interdisciplinary atmosphere and state-of-the-art microscopy infrastructure (CLSM, spinning disk, SIM, TEM).
The prerequisite for this appointment is a M.Sc. or equivalent degree in Biology, Biochemistry or related fields. Highly motivated individuals with a strong background in cell or developmental biology, molecular biology or biochemistry are encouraged to apply. Applications from candidates interested in quantitative imaging and biophysical approaches are especially welcome. The contract will be fixed-term for three years with a possible extension.
Please send your application including a motivation letter, CV, copies of Bachelor and Master certificates (or equivalent) and a grade transcript electronically as one single pdf file to the address indicated below. In addition, please arrange for two letters of recommendation to be sent to the same address. The deadline for applications is July 31st, 2016.
