Closed correspondence on Galileo and open access

Dear JEDIs,

me and Giovanni Boniolo, a philosopher of science colleague in my institute, have just published a correspondence on Nature commenting on recent events that could represent a hidden shift from the exercise of the scientific method. The letter touches also on open access and it does so in a closed journal (an interesting contrapasso). It was initially sent to a open access journal but alas they didn’t want it.

Here is the link on Nature.com, and here is an extended version.

As Yoda would say “To answer power with power, the Jedi way this is not. In this war, a danger there is, of losing who we are.” Are we?
